A Reading Update (& 9 recommended books)

May 21, 2009

Now that the semester has passed, I’m able to do some pleasure for the first time in weeks. Here’s a few books I’ve recently finished, am currently reading, or plan to read soon, in case you were looking for any summer reading recommendations. I acknowedge that they’re somewhat focused on the topic of Biblical Theology, but this summer is hopefully a time I can hammer out whether or not that is something I’d like to study more specifically. To my shame, the worst part about this list is that it’s all pretty recent stuff. But here they are in no particular order:

Graeme Goldsworthy’s According to Plan

Tremper Longman’s God is a Warrior

Bruce Ware’s Father, Son, & Holy Spirit

Craig Bartholomew’s The Drama of Scripture

Graeme Goldsworthy’s Gospel Centered Hermeneutics

Tim Chester’s Total Church: A Radical Reshaping Around Gospel and Community

Kevin DeYoung’s Just Do Something

Andreas Kostenberger/Peter O’Brien’s Salvation to the Ends of the Earth

Geerhardus Vos’s Biblical Theology
