Returning to Acuna

November 10, 2008

It’s official – I’ll be returning to Acuna, Mexico for spring break with the seminary to share the love of Christ in a real and practical way. We’ll be doing another baseball camp and training local pastors. It should be awesome! We had our first meeting last week and it looks like we’ll have a great time.

I’ve missed Mexico and look forward to experiencing the unique sights and sounds again like the mariachis. Men dressed in full mariachi suits would come up to you while you ate in restaurants and just begin playing (very well, I might add) and you’d have to stop them quickly if you didn’t want to pay for their services. One of my fondest memories was another party at a restaurant we were eating at hiring the mariachis for a good half hour, so we enjoyed their music over more authentic Mexican food.

Unfortunately, Megan has to stay in town this year because of school commitments, but I look forward to returning to see how the work we began a year ago has progressed.
